Welcome, here you will find an accurate account of
how an ordinary guy grew to become an experienced country music
singer songwriter. There is no fluff, no bells, no whistles, just
pure fact.
Ralph's career in country music began in the mid to
late 60’s. Real country music was dominating the airways then along
with other popular music and originated from the country music
capital of the world Nashville. There was folk, bluegrass and bush
music prevailing at the time, however, they did not dominate the
music industry as much as real country music did. Ralph learnt to
play the harmonica in the mid 60’s and started singing in a local
church choir. He graduated to the guitar in the late 60’s and
started singing country cover songs influenced by Tommy Collins,
Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Hank Locklin, Jim Reeves and Elvis
Presley. By 1970 Ralph was also playing the clarinet and looking for
a job. It was then that he decided to leave home for greener
pastures. He joined a band in 1971 and started gigging not long
after, playing the guitar, clarinet, saxophone and singing country
music including Top 40’s music. This was a time when country music
was enjoying equal status in the Top 40 arena. Ralph's expertise in
the field of country music really came to the fore then. It was
during this time that he wrote and sang the song "Angels don't
stay" which was an instant hit and was later published in his
Nashville cut album, "A High Price for low livin". From the
mid 70's Ralph maintained his prowess in the field of country music
alone while he migrated from one band to another. By 2005 Ralph had
clocked up several years of singing country music and by then had
developed a burning desire to excel as a country music artist. He
quit the band scene and recorded three cover albums of which one was
"I'll share my world with you" then a "Tribute to Buck
Owens" when old Buck passed away, then onto and another titled,
"Country Jamboree" all of which were instrumental in getting
him to Nashville to record his album seen above.
In 2005 Ralph went solo to do what he does best,
singing country music. As can be seen Ralph's country music career
began a good many years prior to it being made concrete in
Nashville. His music is making waves around the world right now.
Ralph has lived those years as a country music singer, musician and
songwriter, a fact that cannot be denied or erased from his life. It
is etched in his being as to how he evolved to who he really is
today. Make no mistake though, he can perform as good or even better
than he used to back when he first started singing country music all
those years ago.
Ralph sends his appreciation and thanks to T J
Christian his producer of Paradise Hills, Tennessee without
whose assistance his voice may never have been heard around the
world. He also sends his thanks to Ann
Pascoe and the gang at TLC Radio, New Zealand,
